Campus Food Bank

Founded in 1991, the Campus Food Bank is a registered charity that distributes food items and toiletries to all members of the university community: students, staff, alumni and their children.

Were it not for the generosity of the University Community, faculties, departments, student groups, and countless individuals, we would not exist. Because of this community’s remarkable generosity, we were able to distribute enough food to feed over 2300 individuals last year.

Proper nutrition shouldn’t be a luxury item. If you are in need, please do not hesitate to use their confidential services.  The Campus Food Bank is located in Suite 040J in SUB.  Contact the Food Bank at 780-492-8677 or via e-mail at foodbank@su.ualberta.ca.

Peer Support Centre

The Peer Support Centre, formerly the Student Distress Centre, is a Students' Union service that offers the University community a place to talk to someone for support. Opened in 1969, Peer Support Centre provides information, referrals, crisis intervention and a completely confidential place to talk.

Volunteers can assist with both academic and personal problems. No concern is too big or too small, whether you need to know how to have an exam deferred, where to find information on eating disorders, or whether you want to talk to someone about a personal loss or suicide. You can drop in to the Lower Level of SUB or call at 780-492-HELP (780-492-4357). You can also book an appointment by calling 780-492-4268.
